I think you’re misunderstanding. Farcaster team had nothing to do with $PRO. That was by normal builders who tonight FC Pro is an interesting set of users to do an airdrop to.

I understand now, thanks for clarifying, I thought you were referring to the future benefits for Farcaster itself I’m still really interested in buying Pro, but it seems like without the NFT, it might not be worth it since everyone’s focused on the first 10,000 users

It ceases to make the subscription a durable revenue source for the protocol when you promote this narrative, which is is kind of funny. The whole point in theory was to find sustainable protocol revenue, but because everyone is lizard brained you created a product it’s impossible to justify buying beyond the 10k 😂

Idk. I am not building a business here, so I don’t care either way. It’s just funny to me to see people who are building businesses on the protocol actively promote narratives that make it long term unsustainable

We don’t really know Farcaster’s exact plans, but I think if the first 10,000 users are given a higher status and new buyers get a lower one, fewer people will want to join later. Even though I know Farcaster doesn’t really need this revenue because of its funding, I still think it’s important for all Pro buyers to have equal status

highly doubt this will happen. look at Farcaster OG NFT! nothing was more high status than that, and now no one cares. The "Latest Thing" will always prevail.

The OG NFT was high status maybe, and there was some speculative mania around it, but it wasn’t really actively encouraged the same way. Unless you did write that thread and I missed it. i feel like youre too conspiratorial in your thinking. I honestly cant follow it. here's my take: entreprenuers (merkle) are trying things. people (casters) are composing on top of it. some people (users) are happy, some mad. it will all pass... no "narratives" will matter.

I am perfectly legible here — @mmdx66.eth seems to be able to understand? It’s not a conspiracy, either. I don’t know what else to say. I just can’t in good faith tell anyone to buy that stupid check as long as you and others reinforce the idea it’s not worth buying because only first 10k get benefits.

Yes, absolutely Another important point is that Farcaster makes every effort to identify real users, in fact, this has been one of its main goals. So how is it possible to give such an important badge and NFT to users who are very likely bots or have had no meaningful activity at all? The argument is real person activity will be funded with this money. Bots subsidizing quality. But on the flip it took away from the # of real people who could be a part of the community benefits
