partially kidding, but quick thoughts on new vertical video push:

1- mad respect to @dwr.eth founder mode pivoting once again

2- the focus seems driven by Base farcaster-integrated wallet launch / their new social strategy (see: anewdayone.xyz)

3- the launch moment (nikita bier style) and bootstrap phase of a new social graph seems to be the main way to overcome the initial network effects problems

4- having a fair shot at winning in the social graph status game (max follower count) is a primary driver for the "creators" (the 1% of the 1-9-90) that will publish most of the content to the network (see also: https://www.eugenewei.com/blog/2019/2/19/status-as-a-service)

5- because of (3) and (4), I think that launching a fresh graph might be better than trying to build off a new one

6- I also think the graph of new users is likely to have low overlap with the graph of hardcore qDAUs that have stuck around

curious to hear others' thoughts

if nuking the entire social graph is on the table, I would also like to suggest nuking the entire codebase and redoing the app from 0 too

just destroy everything and reappear as TikTok but “ onchain “

nothing will fix the true root issue of this app which is that everyone here is subtly or in a lot of case, not subtly, here to make money. there are very few people here to actually post for the love of it. it's an unfixable problem because crypto.

the issue isn’t the graph it’s not the app it’s the content curation. if the feed exposed the best content on the platform for someone’s specific tastes none of this would be relevant we’d be having completely different discussions
