the issue is not in food laws, the issue is that northerns states of Europe (like UK, Netherlands, etc etc) don't have a food culture. they simply don't cook. they inject food to survive. they buy processed and already cooked food and eat it at home. ok, I'm Italian and I'm biased on food, but come on, taking UK as an example of food is an oxymoron.

hahah, obviously they are finding scapegoat for their laziness. no law will unfat you if you are not willing to buy raw food and then cook it at home. cooking takes time (as doing exercise) and lazy people are more likely to be obese
