I’ve posted this sentiment before but it came up again this past weekend when I was down at Duke for an event hosted by a now retired professor, and before that a business executive, who has amassed a great network of alumni of whom he gathers frequently. His advice for parenting and being an active father and now grandfather: don’t play golf The men didn’t love this when he said it. I broke out in a wild grin. Some man was like “is there anything else we can do? Fishing??” “I said what I said” Be present! Don’t be the dad (or mom) who spends their weekdays working and weekends hitting a ball down the green Thoughts?
