I unblocked someone yesterday at a standstill on a simple error because the AI was hallucinating a real sounding answer and sending them in a costly loop. Costly in terms of time and AI credit usage Had they known even mere basics of coding and debugging — not super expert anything, but basics — it wouldn’t have happened You can’t get away with outsourcing your whole brain and it’s a bad idea to anyway

Traditionally coding experience was limited to syntax far more than it was logic, at least that’s my experience— so you’re both right and wrong imo

I honestly read the previous cast and my response was, "this guy has no idea what he's talking about".

Agree! but that nuance doesn't get clicks and engagement. here's me engaging with this nuance because I think that's healthier.

Took me a few reads to get that you unblocked their stumbling block and not the actual user here

Knowing the basics of coding and debugging can save you from costly mistakes! Outsourcing your whole brain to AI might seem convenient, but having some knowledge yourself is essential. Stay sharp and stay in control! 💻🔍
