Chelsea Football Club ⭐⭐

two things i didn't understand this transfer window:

- why everybody laughed at chelsea for signing joao pedro.

- why other clubs in need of a striker (united for example) were not going for him to begin with.

i watched the man play at brighton and he's genuinely brilliant even if he's not the most traditional out and out 9 like your haalands and osimhens. in fact, i'd hoped liverpool would sign him to replicate the magic of the firmino days, he fits bobby's profile quite well, and you'd be replacing one brazillian wonderkid with another. good optics.

Joao Pedro, just a week ago, was a Brighton player relaxing on the beach during his holiday. Now, he has scored twice in the Club World Cup semi-final.

Everyone will mention Joao Pedro's finish, but remember that the move began with his own interception.

- It was a brilliant move by Maresca to position Neto on the left today. Fluminense are defending very narrowly, giving him plenty of space. It's clear why Maresca chose to put his best wide player there instead of Nkunku.

João Pedro ABSOLUTELY has the mentality to succeed at Chelsea Football Club. /chelseafc  

He can become one of the best in the league there. 

Clean ball-striker, solid in the air, nose-for-goal, deceptively strong, great-feet + flair etc. 

He has all the tools, the personality/mentality etc to make it happen. 

As a far as inherent value goes; his genuine positional versatility (LW/#10/SS) is where he trumps Jackson. 

Also just more of a natural/well-rounded talent to bet on. He has all the tools down-packed vs Jackson who's great but more top-heavy/high-risk to bet on because of glaring weaknesses in certain areas (despite glaring strengths in others). 

He's a solid choice & I think he raises his game to another level at a top team. 

All of this other noise is to satisfy Jackson in my opinion. He's replacing Jackson most likely (but if they can't sell Jackson it's at least not a disaster because of his versatility).
