In finance, basis points (BPS) are a unit of measure used to describe percentage changes in financial instruments, interest rates, or other metrics. 

One basis point is equal to 0.01%, or 1/100th of 1%. BPS are particularly useful for expressing small changes in percentages, avoiding potential ambiguity when discussing percentage changes
