What’s the point of doing things have assed? I’m not saying don’t live in ambiguity I’m just saying, what is the point in doing things halfway? I’m tired today so maybe my mind is wandering more often than I would prefer it to - but I do believe this - doing and creating because you can is a privilege of both having the faculties and the time

Bach once famously said: “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul” – it makes me think about how we constantly feel like we have no time or we don’t know enough or we don’t have enough friends, money, work done, success etc.

Id love to believe that this is what music does — it often brings us back, to who we are in the universe that we live in, refresh yourself in the miracle of existing and be grateful for what you have, and who you already are - you are enough

I want to remember and I want to appreciate that I have this faculty. I’m glad I’m here I’m glad I’m capable of doing this I’m glad that I have the time and somehow I’ve ended up where I am. 

I’m really thankful for that and I think… I just want to appreciate that. It’s not particularly original or unique in that sense, but I’m not trying to be original or unique every day. And that’s honestly OK too

One wise man said all this briefly - «Fac quod debes, fiat quod voles».
This is a very accurate statement

When you see kids and they’re running towards something at full speed because they can’t hold themselves back there’s a certain kind of purity to it. I admire that sort of unfiltered and unmetered spirit. 

It’s both unabashed and a beautiful kind of naïveté that is often seen in youth but mistaken as being solely beholden to it - I don’t agree, you still have it too

Would you say those that have the privilege ultimately have an imperative to create?

my mom would always say; "what is worth doing is worth doing well". if you won't do it well, why do it at all?
