would like to shake up some western constraints / assumptions history is good at doing this (it wasn’t always like this!) but so is philosophy and religion (it wasn’t ever like that!)

Ok: - Kappa (Akutagawa Ryunosuke) - In the grove (Ryunosuke) this is one of my favorite short stories of all time. Second to Rashomon - Record of the grand historian (sima Qian) this is the canonical history of the beginning of the 4000 years of history of China - romance of the three kingdoms - this is one of the best depictions of warring state era China written in the 15th century - water margin: one of the four classic Chinese novels of all time - monkey king: possibly an easy intro to Chinese classic novels, this is a fun one - hagakure: this is one of the depictions of bushido at its core and what it means in the heart - book of five rings: written by possibly one of the most famous swordsman of all time from Japan Musashi Miyamoto - it’s on how to win
