does speed reading *actually* work?

I’ve tried it in earnest a handful of times and either my cpu isn’t powerful enough or I’m doing it wrong.

seems ripe for psyop with its claim to superhuman benefit and ability to always say “you just need to practice more” etc.

but, is it real?

i don't know what constitutes speed reading, but when informative content is only available by video i set it to a minimum of 2x speed (open up devtools to manually crank playbackRate to 3 or 4 if needed)

now that you mention it I routinely do 1.25-2X for most audio and video.

But I can’t easily increase reading speeding without loss of comprehension.
