yep, they are a game changer. it is fun to have those missions. i always do 2km of warmup, then the series that i have for that day, and then 2km of cooldown. the series of today, for example, are 6x1200m@4:44m/km its like an absolutely focused mission that i know i need to crush. i now even run without music, because of how focused i like being in the mission and how my body feels through it

The no music thing is super interesting to me. I see a lot of runners forgo music the more serious they take running. But for me running is a balance between complete disassociation (try to forget your even running and enjoy the nature around you) which music is necessary for And being absolutely in tune to everything you're doing, where music is a distraction. And in some races headphones aren't even allowed, which I can't even imagine running for hours without them 🙈
