I decided that I’ll uninstall Farcaster today, before going to bed.

It just doesn’t feel like the social network I was imagining, one that would bring real value to society using Web3 primitives, but rather just another niche Web3 space focused on the financialization of every aspect of life.

So there’s a lot of frustration coming from my own expectations, and for the past few weeks, the feed just hasn’t been enjoyable anymore.

I’ll keep managing @vocdoni and occasionally checking in via the website to boost Vocdoni casts with my own account, but I don’t expect to be active anytime soon, at least not over the summer.

It's a shame to see this app hemorrhaging users who prefer conversation and community over whatever tf has been on Farcaster's priority list lately.

Yeah, it's a trade-off. But that just goes to prove the point right? Both commentors are saying that FC is valuable to you because of the people you meet here. Not the gambling, micro-payments, leet clubs for people with extra $, etc.

If people come here for the former, just to have real human connection drowned out by hyper-financialization, it undermines the core social value of the app. FC becomes less awesome for all of us when awesome people like Ferran are driven away.

but there is also an evergreen ocean of people awaiting to be discovered. which makes it fun. and interesting. and compelling. i like it here tbh and I wouldn’t imagine my life without this place

For sure. And lots of folks have been pretty vocal about the issue for a long time.. 

It's sad and frustrating to see these waves of awesome people leave, over and over as the roadmap evolves.
