Single hit artists are the luckiest people. They have a single song and for years this song/video keeps printing. Some examples: Gangsta’s Paradise - Coolio. Man currently has 17m plays/mo on Spotify owing to just this track. With the video 1.7B views on YouTube https://open.spotify.com/track/1DIXPcTDzTj8ZMHt3PDt8p?si=vqpVXJX0QmidD6JoV12DvQ Gangnam Style - PSY. I’m sure everyone know this lol. 5.5B views on YouTube from this track alone. (Will update this list as I remember more people/songs. I’ve seen a lot of artists with this MO)

Ohhhh. I’ve never thought about this angle at all. Will read up. I feel it’s a personality thing maybe. Sure, they’ll keep trying to replicate the success and just keep failing but what if, what if you actually just appreciate the success and embrace it. The only exception is if the song was under a label (i.e they don’t earn much proceeds from it), then I understand the sadness. And I just remembered Rick Astley. He even said he doesn’t earn much from the song but still grateful for it and how it defined his career
