Based on the growing debt of the U.S., not clear how leaders stop the death spiral without either lowering interest rates or printing money. Smarter people please explain to me.

It's a good question. I don't have an answer but I did have a thought. Maybe it's time to expand the borders? Would one of their top trading partners going belly up unexpectedly provide an opening for such a move? Especially if it's a friendly partner with lots of resources?
