Farcaster app signups going drop from $3 to $1 later today. This change is thanks to the Storage Redenomination FIP, which makes the cost of each storage unit 20c. Clients like Base and Zapper could choose to sign up users for as little as 20c. When you sign up on the Farcaster app today, we will charge $1 and give you 3 units of storage (which is now 60c). The other 40c goes to the app store tax for the in-app payment. Another important change is that we are extended the duration of all storage units for another year. You do not need to renew storage. We will continue doing every year as long as Snapchain can keep up with traffic. If at any point Snapchain is unable to, we will go back to storage expiring yearly. https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/229

semi-related to this, but any update coming to app invites by chance? even letting folks buy them in usdc would be amazing but also you may want to allocate top mini app creators/teams some invites telling folks about @tipn and doing a whole dance in app stores and all the rest is painful tbh anyways update cost going down is gud too 133.7 $tipn

we're about to see a wave of CT folks who joined last year start to return with the buzz that's been building here already hearing notable folks in some influential groups sharing *unsolicited* very positive experiences on FC in particular noting better engagement; the lurkers are growing when they become active again and want to bring their friends etc... not having a better invite setup will be an unnecessary frustration (*if* the item isn't high up on the roadmap - if it is boom lfg) my 2 $tipn cents
