I'm currently developing T-Cell Engagers for solid tumors. They are "eat me" signals that attach to cancer cells kill them. It is a very simple concept but can easily kill someone if they bind to normal cells. We make T-Cell Engagers that are inactive until they get to the tumor, reducing toxicity.

How is this different from antibodies? How do you determine specificity of tumor vs healthy?

It’s a bispecific ScFv (small antibody that attaches to two things). One side binds to the tumor and the other side calls in T-Cells. We keep specificity because the drug is actually inactive until it gets to the tumor microenvironment where it binds and then gets activated by proteases on the tumor.
