This sounds right.  My 10 yo daughter, out of the blue, started saying “slay” and I asked her what it means.  She said “it could mean beautiful or awesome or cool”.  Then she started speaking another language that included words like “bussin’ skibidi rizz slay sigma” and that’s when I just stared blankly at her and asked her what she wanted for dinner.
