As I’m working on the frontend of this miniapp, I’m realizing how much really goes into being a builder.

I’m doing the most basic, bare-minimum lifts… and I’ve been nontechnical my whole life.

It feels like someone who appreciates and understands music, but can’t play a single instrument.

Takeaways so far:

> I’m starting to understand why devs/engineers clown nontechnical CSMs & AEs for their “dumb” questions.

> Eng ppl need to be a little OCD and rely on a ton of memorization.

> Eng ppl are very matter of fact. They don’t love explaining how to do certain things because the answers are already right in front of you.. it’s on you to figure it out, just like they did.

The more I do this the more I understand their personalities. Bless their hearts for being patient w/ ppl that are nontechnical.

I used to always get stuck as translated between the business and technical people and once I was fired from a gig because I refused to produce a guide on “changes” to the user experience but the 100 “fixes” I was given were all back end changes. 

Looking back now it’s hilarious but at the time I wanted to scream.
