costs for running my fc projects so far this month, sharing cause couple people have asked (NOT ASKING FOR MONEY) -- again, NOT ASKING FOR MONEY, just sharing info!

I bought a Mac Studio + Neynar parquet to supplement running snapchain/postgres on hubs which was about $10k capex + $5k opex for about 1.5 years of parquet if helpful. Also running small models on the studio pretty often.

Can’t really ask for funds till the data feels valuable though

the thing is i’m not running a company or trying to start one and i don’t see myself doing this long term so it doesn’t really make sense to do permanent purchases

The way I see it is no matter what I do in tech I’ll have use for a powerful server but I get it. Well hopefully I have cool data/infra out before you stop building 🫡🥴 on the house

if i’m running a snapchain in a year i have been nerd sniped to oblivion and everything else in my life has gone to hell

maybe that’s true but 1 year of that AWS is basically half the expense and in the end you get a highly versatile machine (maybe even an m3 ultra with like 500gb ram 🤣)

I want to start a company but it feels like a ton of exploratory work and also I did drag my feet a bit so for me it’s probably half paid for itself and I only use maybe 100gb ram on heavy workloads so far but idk models will be a different story and the cost I’m actually scared of

Luckily fc memecoins paid for all of this and living expenses to work on it but I’m trying not to have no savings again by the end
