Why do press release websites always look like shit? It feels like they intentionally go out of their way to make the content feel more generic and less readable from the rest of their website. https://newsroom.chipotle.com/2024-09-16-CHIPOTLE-DEBUTS-AUTOCADO-AND-THE-AUGMENTED-MAKELINE-BY-HYPHEN-IN-RESTAURANTS

From my experience working with large corporations, uploading press releases often feels like a checkbox task rather than a priority as there is frequently a disconnect between user experience, campaigns, and PR. But you are right the website design doesn’t help at all as it makes the content feel even more generic and less engaging.
