Track the overall stock market? babies are going to be outperforming all the hedge funds before they can walk https://x.com/unusual_whales/status/1932128812235403455?s=46&t=cvL_H_NZ56jlMb21pzo2hQ

Don't love that he named it Trump savings accounts - but that's Trump for you. That being said, I'm a fan of baby bonds. Will be interesting to see the opposition to this bipartisan policy. https://racepowerpolicy.org/baby-bonds/

just give the money directly to the kids' families to make their lives better; republicans like to create these rube goldberg-like procedures to convince you why their donors need the money. like trying to explain trickle down economics vs just allocating the money directly to the people. these people want your social security funds too

Do both. This plus a fully refundable tax credit. Baby bonds are pretty popular and progressive.

just pay the families money per month though empirically has been shown to be more effective at lowering poverty and improving QoL than yearly tax credit refunds. that's what i mean why are we inventing new ways to solve problems that already have proven solutions ?

Ya, that's what I meant. Do it the same as it was implemented during covid. IMO baby bonds and the child tax credit solve two different things. Baby Bonds help provide some savings when the child turns 18 and the tax credit is an immediate aid. I want them both.
