We returned home to Oahu from our weekend on Kauai to news of an active eruption on the Big Island, with fountaining lava… … so tempting to jump flights over there to see and photograph it, but trying to use this week to recover a bit from the traveling, and focus on my rehab. It has been quite a while since we have seen ocean entry lava, though… if that happens while we are here, I may not be able to resist.

I still remember watching on TV when the volcano in La Palma erupted and felt goosebumps. I don't imagine how it must feel live

Yeah, definitely a mesmerizing experience. I moved to Hawaii in 2005, but it wasn’t until a friend came to visit in 2008 and he wanted to see the volcano, for my first trip to the Big Island. Once I saw it in person, I have been hooked ever since! 🤙🏼💙🌋
