Of course that’s your contention. You’re new to Farcaster, right? You probably just read some thread on ‘How to Optimize Your Timeline by Hiding Bots.’ So now you think it’s the golden solution. But next week, you’ll be on about ‘boosting authentic engagement,’ and then in a month, it’ll be ‘custom algorithms for power users’ like it’s the answer to everything. And you’ll probably toss in ‘community-driven moderation’ like it’s some brand-new revelation.

early builders I have been seeing on farcaster since the days we had less than ~1000 casters total (not dau). @matthew @cameron @jasonkim.eth @farcasteradmin.eth @nonlinear.eth @jayme @linda @pirosb3 @dylsteck.eth @briang @peter @kazi off the top of my head. I often think about how many times our products have flopped, how many times we've come close - and honestly it's a bummer. exhausting. gut wrenching, mind fucking, ass ripping, soul draining. just wanna flip my table and yell FUCK loud enough for the world to hear it. but on the bright side, the world is changing so rapidly, and it is full of new opportunities, that as long as we continue shooting our shots, something HAS TO click at one point. I genuinely wish for the next banger app that fucking breaks the internet originates from farcaster. we need some of those insane success stories to truly make this place the holy shrine of the next gen builders.

definitely - gonna completely rework how precoin work for sure tighter integration with clanker or just only do precoins for launches that happen on our platform so we can control from the 1st block also probably gonna remove the pre-coin erc20 component and move to an eth vault or something similar

6. People are confused as to why if they put $100 in the precoin they got $10 in w, it's not a 10:1 allocation, this is partially because of the snipers and partially because the precoin:coin allocation wasn't ever 1:1 but proportional to amount in precoin LP 7. So if you had 10% in precoin supply you get 10% of whatever the market bought amount would be in the clanker coin (today that was 7.5B in total supply in clanker bought by precoin). We did communicate that over and over again, but could have made that way more clear for users in designs etc 8. We underestimated snipers when we were testing internally with test coins on prod, but should have known snipers would be working overtime for a more hyped clanker 👇

9. My cofounder's stake of $45K in $prephil became $3.8K in $w and many users experienced similar results 10. We're gonna change up a lot of how precoin works including working tighter with clanker on anti snipe measures, and potentially changing the precoin part to a linear ETH vault that's not an ERC20 on bonding curve to give users a more linear distro 11. Also boro has no plans on selling any $w that he claimed, the meme is good and it's only day 1

Quick retro on today's first @precoin -> coin launch. This didn't really go amazing and I apologize - we're making a lot of changes to refine the idea: 1. We built precoin because we wanted a tool/way for people to speculate on someone launching a coin before it launches 2. Pre_phil started because we saw on the timeline that phil was gonna launch a clanker (phil has no affiliation precoin is permissionless) 3. People put money (with my cofounder boro having a $45K stake/ the largest on farcaster) into pre_phil to get access to $w (phil's launch) 4. Precoin worked as designed and our system automatically bought $w as soon as it launched (4th block, 7 seconds post launch) 5. However we were the 13th transaction and it got sniped 12 times before we market bought 👇

hi all 👋 today, the first lp migration happened for precoin->clanker launch with @phil’s $w coin, here’s a quick retro: we built precoin because we wanted to use a tool/have an easier way to create some type of prediction market where users can buy into a coin’s launch before it launches we tested it out for the first time in the wild today with $w - the migration of $pre_phil lp to $w happened before clanker replied and we were the 13th transaction, and on the 4th block, 7 seconds after token was deployed - to dogfood the first launch i had a $45,000 stake (largest out of any farcaster users by far) in $pre_phil that became a $3.8k stake in $w and many people experienced the same and are wondering why - first, the migration from precoin->coin was never meant to be 1:1 (this was clearly communicated); the lp in the precoin pool is used to market buy $w after it launches, and users were going to be able to claim a proportional stake in the clanker coin 👇
