I first got heavily addicted to gambling when I was 15-16, I’ve been struggling with it for a decade and relapsed again only a few days ago and ended up losing 99.9% of my liquid assets The amount of shame, dread, and suicidal thoughts that have popped into my head because of this cancerous shit that started rotting my brain as a CHILD is unreal Let’s not have a bunch of obituaries on here, and fuck off with this garbage

I’m sorry friend. Gambling’s not my vice, but the feelings of shame and dread are very familiar to me. I know you were responding to a crass joke, but just wanted to let you know you’re not alone. In my life I’ve seen access to gambling get easier and easier through poker sites, sports betting, crypto, and more. While access to community and health resources have been slowly disappearing. It’s very disheartening.

Thank you for sharing something so raw and honest. It takes real strength to say this out loud , especially when shame and pain are trying to silence you. You are not alone in this. Gambling addiction is brutal, especially when it takes root so young. It isn't your fault that an industry designed to exploit vulnerability got to you before your brain was even fully formed. You relapsed , but you’re here, speaking up. That’s a powerful act of resistance. It means there’s still a version of you that wants healing, that wants life. Hold onto that. If anyone reading this is silently struggling: please reach out. Friends, family, professionals. You don’t have to carry this alone. And yes , let’s stop glamorizing gambling on this platform or anywhere else. It’s not a game. For too many, it’s a slow, silent killer.
