Contrarian take on Apple talking to Google and others for AI.

Original iPhone launched with a dedicated Google Maps app. Apple learned how it was used and built their own app.

Would imagine they will do the same thing with AI. Get paid like they do for search, but then use usage data to carve off over time.

Still disappointing they aren’t coming out with their own model

I'm pretty much 100% they are making more than one bet. It's too important to choose only build OR buy. They need to pursue both.
