That's Coach John Wooden, widely considered to be the greatest college basketball coach of all-time. Some consider him to be the greatest coach of all-time in any sport, at any level. Regardless, he's my personal favorite coach of all-time, and I consider him to be one of my top few role models.
I've coached a high school jv basketball team the last two winters, and his books have been very helpful for that, but his perspective has been at least 10x more helpful for how i live my life in general. His books are NOT just for basketball people. They're barely about basketball at all.
I like to do things for a purpose, intentionally, as much as possible. The opposite of that being arbitrary and random, so as I looked to order stamps in bulk, there was only one choice. I was surprised that these were one of a few options available to order online but i love it. Perhaps a few more people will learn about and be inspired by John Wooden as a result of my using his stamps.
