be careful of people who insult others because of their identity (skin colour, culture, gender, sexuality)

even if someone hurts you or does something you perceive as insulting, it doesn’t give you carte blanche to attack their identity and things they can’t change about themselves 

it is okay to be hurt, but it is not okay to then sling derogatory terms back at them

For sure they still do. Bigotry is more and when those who are in perceived power do it it makes others think it’s okay and acceptable when it’s not.
