When my friend and I were both single in NY, we’d share stories and profiles of what we were each seeing on the dating apps. So little effort shown by the average dude

that’s fair, yeah. 

ahhh i love that. as a photographer i’m v curious to see the photo 😆

i’m guilty of not using the best photos, especially as a photographer myself, but in my defense i’ve only recently started being okay with being photographed so i don’t have very many.

But also (if I’m being honest) the apps are pay to play. Half are owned by the same parent company (yes Hinge too) and it gets hard to cut through the noise without getting disillusioned on both sides

I got lucky that I went on a road trip with my cousin one weekend and snapped the perfect first photo to go on my dating profile and promptly tripled my matches until I found and met my wife

i did this a few years ago with my married friends bc they thought i was being too picky while swiping. i told them to do it for me and tell me if i’m the one who’s being picky or is it the lack of effort to even fill out the profile and hold proper conversations (forget the other stuff) that’s the problem
