In retail one of the most powerful tools for enticing sales is a small gift with purchase Not quite a reward for your existing repeat customers. Not quite a free sample. A separate third thing It does the job of creating fomo out of thin air for people to line up early and buy. It also has clear criteria for recency. No customer from 6 months ago is expecting to receive one in the mail. Penalizing past sales of airdrops is like telling someone who lined up at your store before opening and made a purchase in store.. they don’t get the free gift because they saw you flip a different store’s free gift on eBay Not only will they not shop with you again.. but they will actively tell other people about the negative experience too
