I think not enough people think about it at the city or local levels enough either. Ya nyc taxes are high, but it’s subsidized not needing a car for many years while living here

Mostly yes. Obviously property tax only gets lumped in as an owner

gotcha, yeah makes sense. wish I could pay property taxes, but instead I rent and my fed/state taxes are high enough that my monthly payment could cover the mortgage for the entire building I live in 😅

haha yes, won't be holding my breath. banks (at least in canada) are punitive towards anyone involved in the industry and sometimes refuse mortgage applications.
