What if the incentive is a need for the product?

Like really. Why incentivize people to use your product when you can just have it be so good they naturally do?

Can't we just build good web3 products?

I don’t disagree with the premise but I think there is a time and place for well placed incentives

Yep we’re saying the same things lol. A case thats different is say payment apps because usage is so sticky. If you build the better mousetrap you still need a reason for someone to switch over and use it

Otherwise a lot of apps could benefit from waiting on the incentive to not align people on the wrong thing

Yes it’s like fuel to a fire. You add fuel to keep it burning, but if you have no flame why add fuel ?

Also fuel isn’t as long lasting as proper materials

Though there clearly is a case for amplifying the fire with fuel to make it big
