And that's why I have avoided all of this like the plague for years and years. No algorithm is going to fix this. No dev or builder is going to cure the world of this behavior and a leaderboard serves more to encourage it than discourage it. The foundation you build in code is meaningless without people waking up and changing the things they value. Curation will be the way out, and there is no code for that - that is people changing what they like, what they reward, and engaging with content in a positive and meaningful way, that supports not only the content but respects the creators' humanity. I already see the problem with it here, people find something that 'works' and there is this mad drive to reproduce it, to seize your moment while you have the attention. Beautiful capitalist opportunity paired with unnerving madness, sleep deprivation, and burnout. You have found a balance with this, in your real life and your content creation, but for every one of you, there will be a thousand that will struggle with this balance. I am here not so much to create, but to consume and reward, and that is no mindless act. It never should have been a mindless act, but it became one, worse and worse over time. If we truly want to change this behavior you are speaking of, where we stop degrading what IRL actually means – It starts with us. The devs will ultimately fall into the same trap every other centralized social platform has fallen into if we don’t change, because what leads them into that trap is – our behavior.

I totally agree with the trap of finding something that 'works'!!! it really can lead to burnout especially if its inauthentic. finding that balance is hard but i am really glad i am getting better with my relationship towards social media, it hasnt been easy ill be honest it can feel addictive really but i have been really intentional with taking breaks now! yes i really agree about it is down to our behaivour, thanks for sharing your thoughts i appreciate them
