Question about building an audience: I love 1-on-1 chats & teaching (I’ve organised meet-ups and spoken at conferences), but filming myself or blogging unprompted still feels weird. Yet I’m set on growing an audience this year. How do you choose topics people actually care about? Any low-spotlight, pull-based formats you’d recommend?

I really like walk and talk however when I try doing one (with content prepped) it feels so unnatural. Just feel like I’m imposing my content on others

Do you think there could be a model where people ask directly what they want to hear? Like some sort of consulting instead of yap - pull instead of push? Or is that something that only really starts to happen after you’ve already built some trust or audience?

you have trust and an audience here you could start w a cast asking what people want to hear here’s some i’d like to hear from you: - how did you get into tech and what’s your backstory? i really only know you from bountycaster on - what motivates you to build tech - what’s your advice for people who want to build ambitious tech products? videos pls! :D

oh and some advice i heard for making more natural videos is to pretend you’re talking to your best friend when recording it’ll make you more relaxed

Interesting - so you’d rather hear this in a video format? I always imagined these kinds of topics working better as writing, but maybe I’m underestimating how people consume now. Do you feel like video helps you connect more to the person, or is it just more engaging overall?
