zkTLS could help bootstrap buyer / seller reputation on new marketplaces: Issue - new marketplaces have a cold start problem with listings *and* reputation; it’s hard to know if buyers actually intend to purchase, and hard to know if sellers will actually ship the product Proposed solution: 1. Use zkTLS to verify buyer/seller reputation from other marketplaces 2. Show buyer / seller quality on profile 3. Boost listings from verified sellers + outreach from verified buyers 4. Help new participants earn reputation for positive sum activity (listing items people want, paying or shipping quickly, etc)

do you actually need zkTLS here or can you get it from another marketplace’s API already? same for actually buying & actually selling, there are probably other ways to verify @web3pm and @tayyab are the real zkTLS heads at icebreaker heheh so curious their POV also @connor-martin building something in the marketplace area and was in seed club s7

Afaik, most marketplaces don't offer this via API (which is why I assumed zkTLS would be a solution) But @web3pm got me thinking about this more deeply - seems like I don’t need exact analogs, and can figure out other indirect ways of proving "quality seller" or "quality buyer"

zkTLS is generally a great solution for bootstrapping reputation The solution space is actually much larger than simply finding an existing competitor / analog and duping Indirect comparisons can be totally valid, and in some cases, even more beneficial, since there may be many more eligible people (E.g., people with 800+ credit scores and public linkedins probably greatly outnumber past ebay sellers with at least 10 ratings)
