the current internet is already hyperfinancialized in an opaque way and without any benefit to end-users

believing—whether cynically or naively—that crypto is worse than the status quo lacks so much imagination

seems like it's impossible to opt out of moxie, and that tokenomics are replacing the ads business/web2? ie: we are still the product? 

do you really own your data if other ppl can make money from it?

truly owning our data would be way more cypherpunk imo, but for whatever reason remains elusive. a lot of opaque structures still pervasive in crypto, perhaps not surprising given the significant role played by VCs around here.

ya it's less about the money made for me but salient point!

yeah, I think there's an interesting question re: data specifically, which we're far from actually owning. but even if I only made $0.01 from being a FC user, imo it's still better than being predatorily farmed by IG or any other web2 platform for $0.00.
