Cousine Island (Cousine Island), Seychelles Cousine Island, part of the Seychelles archipelago, is considered one of the most beautiful and secluded islands in the world. What makes it truly unique is that this tiny paradise — just 25 hectares in size — is a protected nature reserve with no introduced animals or birds. Both the flora and fauna are entirely endemic, preserved in their pristine, untouched state. Rare birds such as the Seychelles magpie-robin and the warbler show no fear of humans and will even perch gently on visitors’ hands. Among the island’s most notable residents are two elderly giant tortoises — George and Georgina — who are tame and often follow guests around like curious companions.
