The Timia Oasis is rightfully called the “Pearl of the North.” Located in the northern part of the country at the foot of the Aïr Mountains — which translates to “moving northward” — it is one of the most beautiful oases in the Sahara Desert.

This is not just a patch of greenery amid sand dunes, but a whole network of lush gardens in the heart of one of the most barren regions on Earth. The local Tuareg people herd livestock and cultivate grains, vegetables, and fruits here. There is even a small waterfall. After the scorching sands of the Sahara, Timia is a perfect place to relax in the shade of date palms, orange trees, and pomegranate groves.
