Does the chain really matter? What’s the incentive to add multi chain complexity other than grant farming?

> does the chain really matter? no, and increasingly so, but the support is important, as is the optionality for devs. arb is serious about pushing into fc. they are bringing resources and dev power & have already pledged support to established devs here so as *the* farcaster launcher, if arb is serious about coming here, clanker is serious about supporting them

Wdym you agree chain doesn’t matter but support is important?

if arb pushes into fc. arb devs come to fc with arb audiences who trade on arb. if would be silly not to support deployments for them because they are on a different chain. they are still on fc where we clank to launch. forcing any devs entire audience to migrate from an established multi billion dollar ecosystem just to launch on fc doesn’t make sense. fc is multichain, so clanker must be multichain

False equivalence imo Just because farcaster supports many chains doesn’t mean the apps building on farcaster should support many chains Also do developers call themselves arbitrum developers? Seems silly to constrain yourself to a single chain as a developer - especially if there’s a protocol on another chain that you want to build on

more so, some devs may just have established communities unwilling to migrate reality is, fc supports arb & if clanker doesn't support these day one devs, someone else will; it makes no sense for clanker to lose that business as the farcaster launchpad moreover, it's not really clankers job to decide which chain devs use; their job is to support devs, no matter where they prefer to transact or build imo, if base wanted to keep fc pure on base, they wouldn't have launched tba, but instead built deeper integrations here while proactively & more aggressively seeded native projects (not saying they haven't, but clearly their goal is not to monopolize fc) -- fc/cbw have different strategies; base wants more control, but only inside their own walls (smart)

i guess it depends on whether you see clanker as a dev platform or a consumer tool (i am not sure what their official positioning is tbh) as a platform for developers it makes sense to meet developers where they are like you said, but i think there are also arguments to be made for doubling down on a single chain
