the first succesful clients will look like a more integrated & customizable channel—a specific & dedicated community put another way, if you can’t get channels to work, clients will not work either moreover, clients have no real chance at success until at least 20k CONTENT CREATING daus—more realistically, somewhere around 50k+ so building a client right now while mm is pivoting into super app likely makes you doa tam matters & you’re trying make a single pie feed thousands—it’s just not feasible at this point in time

this change was announced on FarCon and would 10x signup costs for alt clients creating new fids yet why is it not yet implemented? I have built and thought so many clients. the cost of creating new accounts is a major roadblock https://farcaster.xyz/jpfraneto.eth/0xa77128e5

I mean I agree but if you can build a client and make it sustainable somehow even in the short term, you’ll have so much skin in the game when the 20k-50k content creating daus are rolling in

if you want to make a client for a wide audience then yes, i mean if you want it to be successful in terms of dau and other business metrics. of course there is no need to create just another client where you can also cast things socialfi in general is a difficult market. there are too many social networks already and they have so much in common i think it is still possible to create a small community. but there is no need for a second farcaster at the moment, no matter which direction mm turns

Redditification is better for retention but the team is desperate for growth and going for Tiktokification which is kinda doomed I think. but the stickiness of money legos combined with tiktok is yet to be seen so i am still rooting for fc
