U.S. index futures are edging higher Monday morning as markets attempt to rebound from last week’s sharp selloff, with investors bracing for the upcoming Fed interest rate decision later this week.

Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions remain elevated after Israel and Iran continued to exchange missile strikes over the weekend and into Monday. According to Reuters, citing a source familiar with the matter, Tehran has informed mediators in Oman and Qatar that it will not participate in U.S.-led ceasefire talks as long as Israeli attacks persist.

So far, the conflict doesn’t appear to be escalating further and critically, investors don’t believe Iran will move to shut down the Strait of Hormuz and disrupt global shipping. That’s why we’ve seen a slight rebound in the markets. Still, with news flow remaining volatile, it’s best to stay cautious during the session. Don’t chase highs or panic sell, stick to taking profits on strength and manage risk carefully.
