I didn’t realize I had aphantasia until a few years ago. 

In fact, I didn’t even know it was a thing. I assumed everyone was like me.

I have vivid dreams and can describe objects visually, but when I close my eyes I see nothing. Darkness.

yep, same here, learned there was a term for it a while back, when I started researching after getting super frustrated with guided meditations, and having conversations with friends about it and them sharing what they were seeing during the same meditation when the person was telling us to picture waterfalls and crystals in our minds 🙃😅 then I started thinking about it and realized I never see anything, aside from dreams.
