Every single convo I have with people not in crypto goes like this “…and then people can see how much money I have and what I’m buying? Why? I hate that.” I might die on this hill but the idea that most people want to show off their money, or use that as their social graph, feels wrong.

Exactly! Most people want privacy, not a public financial scoreboard. Crypto needs better defaults.
