The CIA director’s son who died fighting for Russia in Ukraine was part of Rainbow Family, a roving hippie collective that gathers and camps outside for full moon cycles. I encountered them in late 2023 in northern Portugal protesting a lithium mining project. Their nude bathing in the rivers and propensity to pick fruit from farmers’ trees made them controversial guests in the tiny village. Many were intensely spiritual and preachy, lecturing farmers against wearing shoes that disconnected them from energy in the soil.

Had to re-read this screenshot twice. So this asshole was angry at the U.S. (fair) but decided that the best thing to do about it was to go invade Ukraine and kill Ukrainians? (wtf?!) 🥴 This whole story just keeps getting better.

I am sure as a volunteer he had a privilege to stay away from shooting etc. if anyone argues that’s indirect killing, I would respond in advance that following that same logic all hands of humanity are in blood then

He joined the russian army as a soldier and came to fight in the war against Ukraine on the invading side, and was literally assigned to the assault unit. And you’re “sure” he somehow just stayed away from killing anyone? Totally. He was just there meditating and sending everyone love and light, that’s what assault units of invading armies do when they raze cities to the ground.
