Mechanisms of hypertrophy (Muscle Gains) 1. Mechanical Tension- primary driver of hypertrophic gains. High force contractions trigger anabolic processes through mechano-sensor and mTOR pathways 2.Muscle Damage- Microtrauma inititiates inflammation which stimulates satellite cells and growth factors 3. Metabolic Stress- metabolite accumulation increases hormone response and fiber recruitment How do you train for hypertrophy and what methods and mechanisms do you favor?

Right?! I’ve found roughly 25 pull-ups means you can get a muscle up. I wouldn’t typically have someone build up to 25 of anything but it seems to be solid for this

Senegal 2023 an old an battered Bitcoin symbol on the side of a building. My friends and family in the states never understood crypto. I’ve been lucky enough to live abroad the last 20 years, lucky enough have have the signs of adoption all around.

We actually know an incline push-up translates better to a standard push-up too. So, if trying to improve your standard push-up let’s start from there

So, would people prefer short work weeks say 4x8 hours, 5x 6.5 or extra time off work for vacation like 2 weeks off now becomes 4 I work about 50-60 hours most weeks but get 7-10 weeks off a year in 2+ week stretches. I prefer this as when I get rolling with work the focus is up and when I start to get burned out I have a holiday in sight

I like farcaster but my IRL community in not a part and establishing an online based identity is something I’m still feeling out. Bit lost of here. Any guidance for an old man?

Cardio is like sleep. It’s not hard and I know I could use some more of it, but somehow always end up lacking.

For me, Kolkata might be the most underrated place to visit in India. My low expectations were shattered with beautiful architecture, weather, and people.

Replacing in season plyometrics work, which was always limited, with PIMA(pushing Isometric Muscle Action) and HIMA(Holding Isometric Muscle Action) has been an absolute game changer Tendinopathy rates went from low to non-existent and performance continues to improve throughout the competitive season.
