The last time I read Great Expectations was in primary school. My father got me the revised version so I could understand it a little bit. Since it was long ago, I didn't remember what the story was except that I enjoyed it. It left me feeling good then. I think because of the Estelle character. I picked it up again yesterday and I've been in hysterical mirth π I'm also using it to improve my vocabulary.

i read Great Expectations in primary school too. but it was the original version. i took it from a cousin's house then. i had headcahes after every chapter because it was too much for me. lol. especially Dickens' use of 'die' as 'the'. it took me a while to finish it but i did. i loved how it went in a totally different direction that we imagined. π the thief has to be my favorite character. i don't remember his name anymore.

I remember taking longer than I would have to read it too ππ It was too advanced for us. I think you mean the convict. I'm in chapter 8. Where Pip goes to Miss Havisham's. I don't know if they give a name to the convict yet.
