Surprise when cleaning the tap. Is there a category for macroplastics in tap water?

Great point, possible! Unfortunately seal tapes are often made with… Teflon🫥

Thanks for the idea. Thinking about it it seems plausible and unlikely. Never saw a seal at the exit of a (2 months old new) tap, perhaps for basic aesthetics. No remains on the other tap after unscrewing. Most tap ends have mm filters, so it should not be a problem in practice—who cares about macroplastics? In the end the problem is really about micro plastic residue, and other problems like PFAS… All be safe.
