This is true. I'd love to hear solutions to this that aren't personal security breaches, lol. 

At the end of the day, you have to trust people or devices to a) be honest, and b) not fuck up their key management. 

Or else you have to trust a 3rd party all over again. 

Personally I come back to a clever treasure hunt for the words in my passphrase  for my descendants in a sealed will. lol.
