One thing I don’t like is how institutionalized owning dogs has gotten. Shit went from “I found a random dog on the freeway and took it home” to “my spayed, adopted fur baby has health insurance” and it’s just… fucking stupid.

Not sure but care was mostly affordable out of pocket.

I don’t think pet insurance was very common until the early 2000s.
