You familiar with concepts of ming and xing?

Xing is essentially who you are, Ming is essentially the circumstances you find yourself in

Which i just looked up, is “De” like as in Dao De Ching

De (德):
- Often translated as "virtue" or "power"
- Really more like "skillful alignment" or "mastery"
- The ability to harmonize xing (compressed patterns/skills) with ming (present circumstances)
- Manifests as effortless effectiveness
- Develops through practice and cultivation

Maybe inner context and outer context, the skill you describe in finding alignment between them.
