One thing I’ve noticed in the last couple years of reading 2-3 toddler books a day is that it’s immediately clear whether it going to be good writing or bad writing. In one you are forced to constantly focus on the words you are reading. In the other, the words allow you to think about what you’re feeling while reading. Of course, my favorite books and my daughters favorite books don’t always align. I like to read books in the later category, she likes books with pictures she can relate to.
